For over 60 years, Variety has been committed to serving the most vulnerable members of our society, our children.  In order for us to ensure that we are able to improve the lives of children in our local communities and around the world we continually rely on the support and generosity of our stakeholders, volunteers and donors. We receive a tremendous amount of support through various fundraising initiatives, individual donations, and fundraising event attendance. 

We have many exciting events and fundraising initiatives during the year including:

Our Annual Radiothon on WOR 710 AM hosted by “Cousin Brucie.” A highlight of the 2009 Radiothon was when Mayor Bloomberg called in declaring it Variety the Children’s Charity Day in NYC.

We partner with all of the Food Emporiums, A&P, PathMark, Walbaums and Superfresh stores and do a paper heart pin up campaign. The stores sell paper hearts on our behalf during Valentine’s Day week.

Our biggest fundraising campaign runs from November until April. We partner with four movie theatre chains: Bow Tie Cinemas, Clearview Cinemas, City Cinemas and National Amusements and they raise money on our behalf through collecting donations at the box office and concession stands.

We have a young professionals board called Young Variety that was created to build awareness about Variety and organize quarterly fundraising events. Young Variety has hosted three fundraising events in the past year collecting over $18,000 in donations.
